Joel Murray Architect is a Sole Proprietor Architecture Firm focusing on affordable sustainable housing in upstate New York.

With over 150 projects since the firm's inception in 2002, the firm is particularly proud of the dozens of solar homes built, and performing well, throughout the region.

Prior to the current residential practice, Joel Murray was a design architect at some of the leading firms in the Albany area with design credits for the Saratoga Senior High School Reconstruction and the Administration Entry Addition and Renovations to Edward Durrell Stone's SUNY Albany Campus. Mr. Murray also designed The Doubleday Field Entry Plaza - Key Bank renovation in Cooperstown NY and years earlier, an underground addition to Frank Lloyd Wright's Hagen House in Western Pennsylvania.

Mr. Murray holds a Master of Architecture Degree from Carnegie Mellon University where he studied with some of the pioneers of sustainable building design.

Mr. Murray graduated with honors from the State University of New York University Center at Binghamton. Specializing in sculpture, he studied with Ed Wilson, Sculptor and designer of the Kennedy Memorial in Binghamton NY.

Joel Murray is a Registered Architect in the State of New York and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the US Green Building Council (USGBC).
